Dry Bones

I read in Ezekiel 37 this morning about the very dry bones in the valley. After reading previous chapters about Israel’s rebellion (and how the Lord said He would restore them if they followed His ways), it seems this whole event with the dry bones is the Lord telling Ezekiel He can even give life long after the spirit is dried up- IF they will hear the Word of the Lord.

Psalm 107:17-21
17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
Psa 107:18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.
Psa 107:19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.
Psa 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Psa 107:21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

You can have flesh, and not have life. You need the Spirit and the Word of God!

Regardless of where we’ve been, how far we’ve strayed from the path of righteousness, no matter what our current circumstances are, the Word will give us life if we will listen! ❤️ So grateful!

This month when you see skeletons everywhere, may they remind you of this passage of the dry bones, and these scriptures about the life-giving Word of life!!

May they remind us to give thanks to God that His Word gives life!! Pray about who to share the Word of life with, and let it dwell in you richly in all wisdom.
